A Family

September 2006: Pittsburg Kansas;  A family of church leaders representing their churches came together to seek God, strengthen relational bonds, and enjoy days of rich fellowship.  I am amazed at the goodness of our Lord in helping us during these days. Friendships are only as strong as they are tested, and these church friendships have stood through great testings.  A coming together and pushing forward together, was experienced during these days for all in attendance.   During these days it was as though the Spirit of God was orchestrating our time together, reconciling our pasts and pointing to our future.  Dave and Chris Richards and I had the opportunity of visiting most of these churches before this conference, and the time was rich in fellowship and friendship.  The leaders from these churches met at Covenant Harvest church in Pittsburg Kansas with Dave and Chris Richards for a capstone of meetings and finding the way together. These churches and leaders know the difficulties of past failures and obstacles, but one thing is sure; they are living like a real family and finding grace for each day.  A start has begun with many questions arising as to how to proceed together, but a willingness to find the road together.  Pictures below are as follows: Dave Richards with Pop Dan and Rachel; Dave Ministering to Doug and Denise Kreighbaum, Pastors of Covenant Harvest Church in Pittsburg Kansas; Jerry and Brenda Curry, Pastors from Victory church in Waverly Missouri; Denise Kreighbaum

June and July 2006, Fast and Furious

Summer 2006 started briskly for the Hudson family.  After Patty finished her teaching school year the third week of June, it was off to the Central USA for friendships and family reunions.  We are very fortunate to have great friends scattered throughout these Midwestern states.  Patty, Aaron, Anna and I spent almost three weeks with relatives and great church families.  The shopping was great, and so were the Bar-B-Que's.  Samuel, was with us and is spending a little more time learning and figuring out American culture again, as well as preparing for his next step in life.  After coming home, it was Jesus Festival in Älmhult and 10 days of meetings and seminars.  Doug and Denise Kreighbaum from Pittsburg Kansas as well as a team from their church.  Ted Yukes a powerful speaker, and a team from his church in Canada gave great support to media and broadcasting all meetings.  We finished with Johannes Amritzer from Märsta and a great worship-psalmist team (Julia and Linnea) on the last weekend.  Johannes is unique in presenting the gospel in clear ways that draws people into the kingdom!  A great way to cap these two months!  The pictures below is as follows: the Arch in Saint Louis, Grandma Margie's home in Eolia Missouri, and Victory Fellowship in Waverly Missouri.

How to hear the voice of God

I have had many requests for a simple presentation on how to hear God's voice.  Here is a PowerPoint presentation to help you with your studies.  it is not exhaustive, but simple enough to give a general outline, with some thoughts to provoke you to seek the king. Download this file below

Channel 10 A Christian Alternative

Börje Claesson is an entrepreneur, father, husband, grandfather, pastor, and now TV owner.  CityChurch Älmhult, will be broadcast center for channel 10; a Christian station broadcasting from Helsingborg Sweden, but moving to Älmhult.  Börje's objective in purchasing this station and locating it in the church, was to demonstrate that this is also a church initiative, that will be reaching out and embracing Scandinavia.  Broadcasting on the Sirius network, a similar Norwegian channel has agreed to share some programing and allow channel 10 to also be broadcast on the hotbird satellite network.  This will allow Channel 10 to be seen in all of Europe and in parts of the middle east.

The picture is with Börje Claesson and Samuel Hudson.

Kalifi Relief Part 1

Kalifi Humanitarian Aid Part 1

Humanitarian aid to drought stricken eastern Kenya. Kalifi is the Eastern and North Eastern part of Kenya. For five years this region has been in a drought that has brought devastation. Food is non-existent, crops can't be raised, and livestock has died. Teresia Wairimu and the FEM family from Nairobi, Kenya, are doing their part in bringing famine relief and food to this region and caring for these needy families. Feeding 50,000 and caring for over 1600 orphans, FEM has taken on a massive project that will continue until there is a substantial harvest in the land. Below is a two part video that shows the effort in feeding this enormous amount of people, and caring for the needs of these desperate families. We will soon have a PAY PAL account for the Kilifi relief. It is privilege to serve Teresia and the FEM family, they are real friends!

Home Groups: a way of life

In City Church (CityKyrkan - Älmhult), we have had a great time talking and debating about how to hold the harvest God is bringing to us.  In Europe, most churches are only interested in bringing people to a place of decision to have Christ as Savior.  The concept of Christ as Lord, is a little weak.  We have a great need to train disciples, but how to do it in a context that is natural?  Home Groups are very key in developing both character and the relational life of new and growing disciples. The leadership team in Älmhult asked me teach on Home groups, in a practical yet relational way. So with the help of some old notes from my Missouri days, and with a Lot of borrowing from an old friend, Doug Kreighbaum (pastor Covenant Harvest Church, Pittsburg Kansas - thank you Doug for the borrowing!), I created an outline to teach and help our leaders to understand their role, function, and responsibilities in Home Group meetings.  I share this outline with you, you can download it below.

Discipleship: a relationship not a method!

I think we all know the need for Christian fellowship and friendship in our daily lives.  Worship, Prayer, Bible reading... these are the basics.  What about Discipleship?  I have been confronted with a lot of misunderstanding about what this topic is.  It is a broad and comprehensive topic if you try to take in and explain what to do and not do with the new saved.  Who is a discipler, and what do they do?  Do those who have been saved for more than 5, 10, 15, years need to be discipled?  Who decides what, and with whom? What about the role of authority in Discipleship, what's right and what is wrong?  And what about the family, how do they fit in all of this?  All of this is a challenge and this PowerPoint presentation answers some, but certainly not all of the issues.  I constructed this to teach our Home group leaders a basic philosophy, and general outline of Discipleship, to help them understand their role, and function in serving others.  It is not comprehensive, and will no doubt be full of holes as you read it.  Please, makes adjustments to it, and use it for your own needs. Blessings!

FEM Prophetic Conference with Teresia Wairimu, Nairobi Kenya. A tremendous conference in the Heart of Nairobi with a gracious people and a gracious host. Teresia also provided a safari for me to Masai Mara to the wilds of Africa. It was absolutely stunning, as was this conference. One quick story: the first night on the Mara I was awake almost the whole night listening to the Hippos and Crocodiles. They both make alot of noise. It was Fanfastic! This cover photo features the speakers for this conference. Doctor Kamau, Nairobi; Myself; Teresia Wairimu, founder FEM Ministries; Jens Garnfeldt, Pastor KBC Copenhagen.
